Does the blood pressure monitor allow you to print out your readings?
No, the blood pressure readings cannot be printed out from the device, however, readings can be sent from the Precision app to an email address for printing.
Will the adjustable blood pressure cuff fit a person with very large arms?
Yes, the adult-sized cuff can accommodate arm sizes between 8.66” to 17.32”.
Can I use the Precision blood pressure monitor alone or will I need help?
The blood pressure cuff can be easily secured on the arm, allowing for accurate self measurements.
Is the adjustable arm cuff automatic or will I have to pump it?
Blood pressure cuff automatically inflates, no manual pumping necessary.
Are there any indicators to tell me whether my blood pressure is normal or high?
Yes! Along the left hand side of the screen, there are four color-coded areas indicating normal and prehypertension, high blood pressure or hypertension stage 1, hypertension stage 2 and hypertensive crisis blood pressure levels. The right side of the screen provides the WHO blood pressure classification in any easy to read format.
Does this blood pressure monitor measure from the wrist or from the bicep?
The Precision smart blood pressure monitor is an upper arm blood pressure monitor and will measure from your bicep.
Does this blood pressure monitor alert you when an irregular heartbeat is detected?
Yes! If the bp monitor detects an irregular heartbeat, it will alert you on screen as part of the reading.
Is the blood pressure monitor rechargeable?
The smart blood pressure monitor is powered by either four AA batteries or the included power adapter.
Can this blood pressure monitor be used on children?
Our cuff size ranges from 22 – 32cm. This standard cuff size can accommodate a small to large sized adult. The recommended cuff size for a child ranges from 12 – 18cm. A cuff size too large can underestimate a blood pressure reading.
What does Systolic and Diastolic mean?
Systolic is the top number in your blood pressure reading, and is the larger number. This number indicates the measure of pressure in the arteries when the heart beats, or contracts. Diastolic is the bottom and smaller number in your blood pressure reading. This number indicates the pressure in the arteries between heartbeats, or when the heart muscle is resting between beats and refilling with blood.
What do Prehypertension, Hypertension Stage 1, Hypertension Stage 2, and Hypertensive Crisis mean?
Prehypertension is a warning that you may develop high blood pressure in the future. Hypertension Stage 1 is high blood pressure, and typically diuretic medication is recommended. Hypertension Stage 2 is high blood pressure that requires change in lifestyle habits along with prescribed medications. Hypertensive Crisis is a very high and severe increase in blood pressure that may lead to a stroke. This is usually broken down between Urgent and Emergency. Urgent means no damage has been done to your organs. Emergency means damage has been done to organs, and risk for life-threatening complications is high. Hypertensive crisis requires immediate medical attention.
